Darkroom Photography

Within this course, I learned how to develop B&W film and create an understanding of the chemicals and equipment used during the development process. From this process, I learned how to take my negatives and use an enlarger to create prints for my final projects. Throughout this class, I found a new kind of photography to experiment with and a side of film photography I have fallen in love with.

I have created this piece to show the difference between using two different mediums and how they display something different even being very similar photographs. My overall vision of this piece was to show the difference between digital photography and film photography. I have always used both mediums and I wanted to show the true comparison between the two while capturing very similar photos for both mediums. When looking at the digital photographs (color) you can see more physical detail in the photos as well as the overall quality. When looking at the film photographs (black and white) you can see a different kind of detail that shows more depth to the photo as well as better detailed coloration in the photos. While looking at two different photos and comparing the two photos next to each other, I saw a different story behind the image. Coloration, grain, quality, and editing have a lot to do with how one can view an image.

NikeUnited, Design Management Simulation

For this project my group and I had to choose a group network from eight different categories; Ability Network, Ascend Network & Friends, Black Employee Network & Friends, Latino & Friends Network, Nike Military Veterans & Friends, Native American Network & Friends, PRIDE Network, Women of Nike & Friends. My group and I chose

Women of Nike & Friends. The goal of the project was create a pop-up store, restaurant, or other types of experiences that can change the way people think about retail, food and the ideas of exchange and promotion.

The purpose of this project is to utilize Nike’s brand and OSU’s role in the community to advance diversity, equity and inclusion through partnering with one of the NikeUNITED Networks.

Throughout this project my team and I had to find a problem we wanted to solve within our NikeUNITED network, research into the demographic, deliverables, event, products, and location of the pop-up, assigned roles for each member to be responsible for, metrics, prototypes, safety concerns of the pop-up, marketing, vendor management, work back calendar, budget, and brand management.

At-home testing kit

Design Research, December 2022

For this project, I was assigned to research an at-home testing kit that isn’t available or real to the market. I was asked to come up with a topic and find a research statement, background information on the topic, symptoms, why this at-home testing kit should be available to people, persona cards, sampling/method approach, make surveys/interviews, and a timeline of the conducting the project. After working on this project, I have found new strategies on how to develop an idea and put it into a process that I could potentially develop.

PIGS Report

Consumer Behavior, November 2022

The purpose of this research project was to find the reasons why the target market buys a certain grocery store item when compared to other similar options.

In this research project, our team was tasked to come up with an overall research question with objectives and conduct research with two different methodologies for subjects around us. After some thoughtful consideration, our group decided to focus our research on the overall fruit consumption of college students. In this report, we describe our overall research question, as well as our three main objectives within the research. Further along in the report, our group describes our primary and secondary research, as well as our research methodologies and data collection instruments. Moving on forward past the primary and secondary research, we then talked about our overall results and findings from our research. We gained some very insightful information in this section, with our answers directly relating back to our overall research question and main objectives.

For this project, I was assigned to take the role of the director. I was responsible for every detail in the image and communicating something conceptual to the viewer.

Color Code Project

I was assigned to create two photos that exemplify emotions through color. I chose to pick the color blue and the color yellow. I wanted to represent the feeling of being relaxed through the color blue and the feeling of excitement through the color yellow. The goal of this project was to make the viewer feel that emotion through the colors they are seeing.
